Your first visit with a registered dietitian/nutritionist may include exploring your current patterns, clarifying your aims, assessment and collaborative goal setting on next steps for health & wellbeing. Initial visit is 1.25 hr
If you want to improve mood, digestion, to lose or gain weight, improve your cholesterol or heart health, strengthen bones or balance blood sugar, this is the best type of visit. Please bring pertinent lab values to your meeting with the nutritionist. Physician/NP referral for nutrition therapy is welcome but not required. Initial visit generally 1.25 hr
Nourishing Resilience (NR)
7 weekly classes. Recover from life's stressors faster. Nourishing Resilience promotes the brain states for healthier weight and lifestyle choices. Based on positive psychology, attachment theory, neuroplasticity and stress science, this series offers skills-based training for less anxiety, depression and greater stress resilience. Cynthia has offerred Nourishing Resilience and it's prior versions (Solution Method, Emotional Brain Training) in Charlottesville since 2006. Currently offering Nourishing Resilience orientations and 7-week class series with Kris Bonham RDN via zoom.
8 Weeks Towards Wellness
This class series is for people who want to improve blood sugar, blood pressure or weight while learning the skills of self-care within a caring, intimate class setting. Meets weekly for 8 weeks and one 1/2 day informal retreat. Two nutritionist visit. Award winning, evidence based program previously offerred at University of Virginia. Application required. Call or email for more information. Offered 1-2 times/year.
Eating Mindfully for Health & Weight
We'll explore The Mindful Diet by Ruth Q Wolever, PhD and Beth Reardon, MS, RD. 1.25 hr weekly. Supportive small group learning forum for those aiming to eat more healthfully or to manage weight..
Payment is due at the time of service. We do not bill insurance, however will share a receipt/ superbill so you can submit to your insurance company. Follow up nutrition sessions: 30, 45 or 60 min. Integrative Health Coaching is discounted when paid as a 6 month bundle.
